Lichenes and Ernst Haeckel

A few finds from my dog walk this morning the winter sunshine seems to bring out the vivid colour in these striking forms of nature.

It's not surprising Ernst Haeckel was inspired to draw them this is 'Lichenes' from the book 'Art Forms in Nature' which has to be one of the most inspiring books I own.
